Conservation Cropping

As an Alberta farmer, your best farming practices could generate carbon credits. No-till farming sequesters carbon dioxide in the soil, helping to mitigate the effects of climate change. You could earn money simply for farming as you already do and contribute to conserving our environment for generations to come.

Thousands of Alberta farmers generate carbon credits simply by using their own best farming practices. Direct seeding with minimal discretionary tillage qualifies farmers for carbon credits and earns them extra revenue. Our program is based on Alberta Environment’s Conservation Cropping Protocol and rewards farmers for tillage practices that reduce greenhouse gases. The carbon market in Alberta is huge and growing. Alberta farmers can participate in the market easily by signing up with CCSI. We will process your claim, send you money and keep it simple!

We develop carbon credits from more than 7 million acres of Alberta farmland and have helped over 2,100 farmers earn extra revenue from their land. Our process is easy, simple and successful.

Farmers have the opportunity to generate claims on their no-till land until 2021. We don’t tell farmers how to farm, but we do provide excellent service and pay them for credits generated from their qualifying farming practices.

Check out our Farmer FAQ for questions regarding claims, and view our Farmer Qualification Form to see if you qualify. Think you might be eligible? Then call our office for more information. We look forward to bringing you exceptional service and a great price for your credits.

To apply for our carbon credit program, please complete and send in an application by e-mail, fax, or in person at our office in Airdrie.
